Time is running out to show recognition and appreciation for the thousands of people who go above and beyond to help deliver health related services in Telford & Wrekin.
Nominations close for the second annual Care with Confidence Awards at 5pm on Friday August 5.
The awards, run by Telford and Wrekin CCG are an ideal way for local people to nominate those individuals, teams, organisation and health and social care professionals who go that extra mile to deliver exceptional health services in the area.
Christine Morris, Telford & Wrekin’s Executive Nurse said: “Across Telford and Wrekin there are people who make a real difference to others in the community. They may look after a loved one who needs help and support, they may do voluntary work or work at a health care provider. They could also work in a caring profession. Most don’t expect any recognition but we think their efforts should be recognised which is why the awards were launched.”
Last year the Outstanding Achievement Awards went to Robert Eyres, founder of the Telford After Care Team (TACT) and Fiona Smith, founder of Swimming After Surgery (SAS). Other awards went to a healthcare assistant at Princess Royal Hospital, dementia support volunteers and Healthwatch volunteers. Over 20 individuals and groups were nominated.
The criteria behind the Care with Confidence awards is driven by no less that 18Cs. Entries will be judged by a panel, based on the evidence provided in the nomination form, which reflects one or more of:
- Common sense
An awards ceremony will held on Tuesday September 13th after the organisation’s Annual General Meeting which starts at 6pm, in the Reynolds Suite, Holiday Inn, St Quentin Gate, Telford.
Christine Morris added: “While nominations are welcome for NHS bodies, a third sector organisation, or other professionals, we’d also love nominations for volunteers or local citizens who give their time and effort to help, others. We know there are plenty out there.”
