Leading Doctors in Telford and Wrekin are inviting anyone working in a health-related service to enter for its new Care with Confidence Awards.
Its Care with Confidence Awards were launched at its first AGM in September 2014, when it presented its Patient Health Rountable with a Care with Confidence Award for outstanding contribution as a critical friend.
GP and Chair, Dr Mike Innes said: “We know that a lot of good work goes on in our communities. This is in a hospital setting, the voluntary sector, GP nd nursing services, and health and social care. However, those people or teams that really have gone the extra mile can often go unrecognised. We created these awards to acknowledge anyone who has made an extra special contribution to the care of our Telford and Wrekin residents over the last 12 months.”
The CCG has written to the chief executives that they work closely with the encourage them to make nominations, including the the Shropshire Community Trust, Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospitals Trust, the West Midlands Ambulance Service, Telford and Wrekin Council and Healthwatch.
The awards are based on the 6Cs of Care, Compassion, Courage, Competence, Commitment and Communication, which are a national benchmark for the delivery of quality patient care.
“We want to find out the story behind some of the achievements that a person, a team, a service, or a project has delivered; something extra special during 2014-2015,” said Mr Innes. “We know that there are people and teams out there – but they do not always get the recognition and the praise that they deserve - especially the public recognition.
Every entry that can successfully evidence that it meets the 6C’s will receive a Care with Confidence certificate of accreditation. The winning entries will be announced at this years’ AGM on Tuesday 8 September, at the Holiday Inn, Telford.
