“Simon Stevens, The Chief Executive of NHS England, announced on 1st May 2014 that NHS England was inviting CCGs to expand their role in primary care commissioning. As a result of this, from 1st April 2015 the CCG has taken on extended responsibilities for primary care commissioning, and has established the NHS Telford and Wrekin CCG Primary Care Committee, which will function as a corporate decision making body for the commissioning of primary medical services.
The Committee’s terms of reference are included in the CCG’s Constitution. The Committee will meet regularly to transact its business and members of the public are invited to attend these meetings as observers, but there will be no facility for public questions. Meetings will be held regularly at NHS Telford and Wrekin CCG Headquarters; Halesfield 6, Telford TF7 4FB.
Public meetings may be stepped down if there is insufficient business need, however adequate notice will be given to the committee and members of the public in this eventuality.
