Countdown has begun for the Care With Confidence Awards

The countdown’s begun for the second Care with Confidence Awards, taking place next week.

This year the Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group awards has attracted record entries with more 35 nomination received and more winners expected.

They are being held after the organisation’s Annual General Meeting next Tuesday September 13th, in the Reynolds Suite, Holiday Inn, St Quentin Gate, Telford TF3 4EH.
The AGM is being held between 6pm and 7pm and will be followed by the awards.

The Care With Confidence Awards recognise those organisations, teams and individuals who go above and beyond to deliver health related services across Telford and Wrekin.

The criteria behind the Care with Confidence awards are driven by the 6C’s but have been expanded to include 12 other areas that the Telford and Wrekin Patient Health Round Table felt were important. Entries have been judged, based on the evidence, provided in the nomination form, which reflected one or more of the CCG’s 18Cs –these are:

  • Care
  • Commitment
  • Courage
  • Compassion
  • Communication
  • Competence
  • Consideration
  • Credibility
  • Culture
  • Contingency
  • Commissioning
  • Confidentiality
  • Comforting
  • Common sense
  • Confidence
  • Creative
  • Clarity
  • Co-ordination

As well as the awards ceremony the CCG’s Annual General Meeting will see the Annual Report and Accounts presented as well as a look back over the last 12 months and a look ahead to the future.
Dr Jo Leahy, Chair of the CCG said:  “We developed the awards because we wanted to acknowledge the achievements of a person, a team, a service, or a project that has delivered something extra special during 2015-2016.

She added: “We’ve had some fantastic nominations from right across the health and social care sector and next Tuesday will give us the opportunity to recognise people who don’t always get the public recognition and praise they deserve. Last year we held our first Care with Confidence Awards when more than 20 people and organisations nominated. It was a fantastic evening but this year it promises to be even bigger and better with nearly double the number of nominations received.”

Ahead of the AGM and awards the CCG is also holding its Governing Body meeting in the Heslop Pritchard Suite at 1:30pm in the same venue.
