CCG encourages people in Telford and Wrekin to come along to their Board meeting

Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is encouraging residents to come along to their next Board meeting, on Tuesday (10 September), and find out more about the work of their local CCG

To help as many residents as possible to attend, the CCG is rotating the monthly meetings across the Telford and Wrekin area. This month the Board meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn, Telford.

The CCG is responsible for designing and buying local health services. By coming along to the Board meetings, patients and residents can find out how taxpayers money is being spent on preventing people from becoming unwell and helping patients to manage their conditions.

The CCG is also responsible for ensuring local hospitals, mental health and community NHS services are delivering quality and safe care for patients. At each Board meeting, the Board members review performance of local NHS services to monitor any issues and identify if improvements can be made.

To ensure patients are at the heart of local decisions, a representative from the Health Roundtable sits on the Board. The Health Roundtable includes patients and representatives from voluntary and community groups in the borough. By listening to patients, the CCG can help ensure services meet the needs of current and future patients. At this month’s Board meeting, CCG members will be updated on progress in agreeing this year’s Health Roundtable representatives.

Dr Mike Innes, Chair of Telford and Wrekin CCG, said:

"We encourage patients and local residents to come along to our board meetings and take an interest in how we manage the local health system. At each Board meeting, members of the public have an opportunity to raise any issues or suggestions to Board members.

If you would like to become more involved in the work of the CCG and local health services, you can join your local GP practice patient group. We work closely with patient groups to listen to their comments and suggestions on how we can improve the patient experience."

The Board meeting is on Tuesday 10 September at 1.30pm at the Holiday Inn in Telford. For more information visit
