Patients can now book their place on crucial NHS conference

Press release issued jointly by Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group and Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group

Patients from across Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin can now book their place on a conference that will help inform the future of vital local NHS services.

The Call to Action Conference takes placed on Monday November 25 at Telford’s International Centre. It is being hosted jointly by the Telford and Wrekin and Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs).

Representatives from a wide range of groups are expected to attend. These include voluntary organisations, patient support groups, local authorities and NHS partners.

Places have also been reserved for patients and members of the public. They don’t need to be affiliated to any group – they just need to be registered with a local doctor.

Dr Caron Morton, Accountable Officer for Shropshire CCG, said:

The conference will look at the facts about future demands on local NHS service, and will particularly focus on issues faced by our local communities. We will also present feedback from the Call To Action that has been running through September and October.

David Evans, Telford and Wrekin CCG’s Chief Officer said:

People who attend will have an opportunity to tell us, as the organisations responsible for buying many local health services, what is most important to them. This will directly help us to plan and improve services.

Anyone can register for the conference, subject to places remaining available. They can go to:
