Telford and Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is urging people in at-risk groups to get their free flu jab.
At risk groups include adults aged over 65; those with long-term health conditions such as severe asthma or heart disease; carers; pregnant women; children aged two to eight, health and social care workers and other at-risk groups.
Dr Jo Leahy, Chair of Telford and Wrekin CCG, said: “It is really important that people identified as in an ‘at risk’ group get themselves vaccinated against Flu. It is a highly contagious illness which for those in at risk groups it can lead to more serious complications like pneumonia or bronchitis and in worse can scenarios it can be fatal. Speak to your local pharmacist or ask at your GP practice about getting your vaccination.’
