Last call for awards that recognise all our compassionate carers

Anyone who want to make a nomination for Telford & Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group’s fourth annual Care with Confidence Awards is reminded they only have until the end of this week to do so.

Nominations close at 5pm on Friday July 13.

The awards are held to recognise individuals or teams, employed or voluntary, that go above and beyond their role to deliver health care to patients across Telford & Wrekin.

This year’s final will take place in conjunction with the CCG’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 6pm on Tuesday 11 September at The Holiday Inn, Telford.

Dr Jo Leahy, Chair of the CCG, said: “We want to hear more fantastic stories about the work being done locally to improve healthcare for the people of Telford & Wrekin and their families.

“Just knowing that they have been nominated can help reassure carers that their work really is appreciated, and we want to acknowledge the work these carers do.”

“If you know an individual or team, whether they are employed or volunteers, who have gone the extra mile in delivering health services then we want to hear all about them.”

Dr Leahy added: “The awards are a truly great evening where ae are able to recognise and celebrate those who have made a real difference to healthcare services locally.”

The criteria behind the Care with Confidence awards is driven by the 6Cs of nursing - Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment – plus 12 others the CCG’s patient representatives considered important.

Entries will be judged by a panel, based on the evidence provided in the nomination form to reflect one or more of the CCG’s 18Cs. The other 12 are Consideration, Credibility, Culture, Contingency, Commissioning, Confidentiality, Comforting, Common sense, Confidence, Creative, Clarity and Co-ordination.
